We are more than happy to assist in any way we can to ensure our service to your is faultless and memorable, by capturing all those very special images and more of your most important day!
This page covers questions relating to our photography service and answers questions regarding:
Q. “How will the photographer conduct himself”? A The photographer will be fully aware of the style of the occasion or event and will conduct himself accordingly. If your affair is formal the photographer will be dress formally and will be respectful and polite throughout. If your event is a relaxed affair, or even fancy dress, the photographer will join in with the spirit of the occasion and will even dress up himself to fit in.
Whatever the occasion, the photographer will use a professional approach and exhibit excellent communication skills. The photographer will be able to organise groups of people in a friendly, even humorous way with confidence and politeness, aimed at putting everyone at ease, thus getting the best possible photographic results.
Fun 4U Photography will consider all locations (on land and at sea) and has provided photography services in different parts of the world, including the Caribbean, Spain, America and of course the UK.
Q. “How far are you prepared to travel”? A We place no restriction on this. Our ability to travel to your required destination will be determined by the time involved, our commitments, travel conditions and budgetary considerations.
Q “What are you prepared to photograph”? A Anyone, anything and anywhere! We specialise in wedding photography. Our services cover portraits of people and pets, private and public events, including charitable events for which we offer a discount. Sometimes we can provide our photography services to charities free of charge. We also provide corporate, property, legal and landscape photography services.
Q. “What photo equipment do you use”?
A The equipment varies according to the photography situation. The preferred camera with the relevant lens is shown here. We also use relevant lighting equipment and backdrops when required.
Q. “I am not used to having my photo taken. What can I do to make me less nervous on the day”?
A As part of our contract we can arrange to visit you between three and six months before your wedding for a pre-wedding photo session. This will give us a chance to get to know each other, so that you feel comfortable with my presence on your wedding day. This visit can be with just the bride or groom or ideally the bride and groom will both be present to practice the perfect poses.
We can use the opportunity to do an ‘engaged’ couple’ portrait. A popular choice for couples soon to be married. This can take place anywhere at any time. So if you are at your most comfortable in a garden, or would like a photo against a night sky, we can oblige. Engaged couple portraits can be in any style you choose, so if you want to both be dressed formally, or casually dressed in the garden or wearing the shirts of your favourite team you can have a portrait of which you can be proud.
Q. “What do your services cost?” A We are pleased to be able to provide a comprehensive and versatile service. This means we are unable to give a generic answer as each photography request is treated on an individual basis and the bespoke photography package is priced accordingly. The price will take into account the location, travelling, number of people, amount of time and the amount of digital enhancements required. We will discuss all charges with you before you enter into a contract to use our services.
Q “Are there any hidden charges?” A There will be no hidden costs and no surprises. When you sign to use our services the price will be quoted and unaltered. We may even be able to provide a payment plan. So if you are on a tight budget, arrange our services early and you could be paying on a regular basis prior to the event, so when the big day comes you will have one less thing to worry about.
Q “Do you offer discounts”? A We consider discounts for charitable causes. Each request is considered on its own merits. For non charitable photography events we may be willing to offer discounts for bulk purchases. Please contact us with your discount request.
Payment process Q “How do I pay for your services and how secure is the process”? A We accept cheques, postal orders, Paypal payments and shortly credit card payments using another secure payment process. On some occasions we can accept cash.
Q “What sort of photographs do you take?” A We take all the traditional photographs of the bride and groom, main family members and family and friend groups. We take reportage (documentary style) photographs and details shots such as the wedding car, bouquets, the cake, the rings and place settings. In fact, anything, anyone and anywhere you desire.
Q “How many photographs will I receive?” A We shoot your photographs digitally. This means there is no restriction on the number of photographs we take. The number of shots will depend on the length of time for which you hire us, the venue, the rules pertaining to the venue and event, the weather, the light levels and the number of photo opportunities that present themselves.
After the event we carefully go through the photographs, ensuring the photos you are presented with, give the best representation of your event. This could be 50 photos or it could be 400 or more. We will discuss the projected number with you, but the number will be an estimate. We will not pad out the number of photos with too many similar ones. We aim for quality not quantity. We may also add extra photos with special effects that we feel do a photo more justice.
Q “Will all the photos be in colour”? A We will give you the photos in any way you want. If you only want colour, you will receive only colour. However, we recommend that you allow us to digitally enhance some of the photos so we can give you the best possible effects that can give your photos that special touch. So if we have a colour photo we feel would be wonderful in sepia or black and white or with a tint or in a vignette etc, we will add this for your benefit.
Q. “What does digitally enhance mean”? A Through modern computer technologies we are offer a wide range of image manipulation techniques, from simple retouching, to converting to a painting style, through to complex photo-montages that produce unique pieces of photographic art. The more specialised and in depth the work, the more the price is likely to increase and the length of time it will take to provide you with the finished work. When you retain our services, we will discuss in advance what effects you might like to receive and charge accordingly.
We generally use a combination of styles to present your photos in the most memorable way. Some of our enhancements include: Black and white, sepia, a mixture of tones and also colour and black and white combined in a photo, cropping, facial smoothing, removal of backgrounds and many more. Q. “When do you send us the DVD of the photos?” A We aim to get this to you within three weeks of your wedding. The time scale depends upon your requirements and the number of photos that we are working on. Fifty photos will require less attention than 400. We can sometimes get them to you within a week. We will get them to you as soon as possible. If you want photographs in a different format we will discuss prices and time-scales during our visit.
Q “I want to book you. What is the next step?” A You can telephone, email or fill in our questionnaire. The questionnaire does not commit you or Fun 4U Photography, but is a very good first step as we can be fully prepared before our discussing your requirements.
Q “My wedding is in three weeks. Am I too late to book?” A If we can assist we will! We will try to fit you in around our other bookings. You may have to wait a little longer for your finished photographs as we will need to process the earlier bookings first.
Q. “What do I need to do in preparation for portraiture photography”? A Clothes - Consider the colours involved. If this is a family portrait, consider co-ordinating the colour and style of your clothes. Avoid large bold patterns. Solid colours will usually be better. White can be a very good colour, particularly on babies. Use towelling nappies on babies for a nicer picture. You may want to avoid anything that dates the photograph, so avoid logos and slogans. Discuss colour preferences with your photographer, who may be able to provide suitable screen colours to compliment your colour choices.
If your portrait includes children and babies, their needs will come first. If necessary the photographer will stop the shoot if the children are not comfortable with the shooting situation. Therefore, it is important to consider before arranging the shoot, when they are at their best. Avoid usual sleeping or feeding times.
Consider before the shoot, giving children the opportunity to burn off some excess energy that leads to fidgeting and impatience.
Be prepared for the weather conditions and choose clothing relative to their comfort, this in turn will make them more relaxed and lead to a better result.
Babies and young children can of course look very sweet and innocent and this can come through beautifully in photographs. Consider, bare feet or legs for that extra cuteness or innocence effect which also allows for extra foot shots that can be wonderful keepsakes.
Make comforting items available. A child’s special toy, can serve to quiet and relax a child and if included in the photo can be a nice keepsake for when the child has grown and the toy is long gone.

Q “If I want to book you for a portrait photography session am I under any obligation to buy a set number of photographs”? A We work hard to ensure that you get exactly the photographs you were hoping for. We charge for the photography session. You choose the photographs you wish to purchase. There is no sales pressure or minimum order requirement.
