The Fun 4U Photography Editing Process
Fun 4U Photography provide a personalised service that takes into account your views on photography and artistic licence and will follow the given brief. Our aim is to provide you with your personal memories captured in the most fitting way. If you prefer photos without any touch ups or embellishments, we can do that. If you want some images that have been beautifully or artistically enhanced we can provide this too, taking into account your preferences, such as black and white, sepia etc.
Wedding photos can give a warts and all reflection of the day or portray the romantic and sentimental side of the whole event, giving licence to creative and artistic flair. The choice is yours. We can tailor the finished photographs in line with your preferences, either completely accurate and true to life photographs or embellished and if requested artistic interpretations.
Whether you use film or digital media, you can still have your photos digitally enhanced. You can scan in old photos, even the very scuffed, scratched and dog eared ones long forgotten and unused because of their condition. Once they have been scanned the copy is saved in digital form and can be manipulated in the same way an original digital image can be edited. You can clone areas of the photo to restore missing corners, you can remove scratches - even those going right across the whole photo. You can even add colour to old sepia and black and white photos. You can brighten and darken where necessary, remove backgrounds and generally make the most of a very precious memory.
When we have completed the task of taking all the wedding photographs we download the photos and go through an editing workflow process. We make the changes to the degree that we have agreed at the time of signing the contract. All enhancements are done with the nature and spirit of the event in mind, so that the finished photos reflect your day in the way you want to remember it.
We look at all the images and decide which ones require the entire image to be edited, either for correction or for that creative touch. We apply enhancements such as colour balance, adjusting the hue, saturation and lightness, contrast, brightness, and cropping.
Once this has been done, we pick out those photos that would benefit from a more individual touch. We apply effects such as cloning, blurring, red eye removal, rotating, resizing, flipping and cropping, adjusting the light, colour management, fix scratches or blemishes. We may also apply image extraction, lens distortion correction, converting photo to grayscale, adding text to the photo along with adding borders and frames to the photos. We sometimes apply adjustment layers to give various artistic options.
When we have applied all the enhancements we feel necessary, we take the final sharpening step.
We save the edited and sharpened version under it's own name, and save a JPG compressed copy for emailing and web work. We may save some photos in a TIFF format if they are going to be blown up for a large display.
Once we have made the preferred adjustments, we can then give them to you in any format you have chosen, on DVD, on the web and in print.
